Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about BuyerReport inspection report reviews, AI analysis, professional inspector review, repair-cost guidance, pricing and Buyer’s Agent accounts.
What is BuyerReport?
BuyerReport is an inspection report review service for property buyers. It reviews an existing building inspection, building and pest inspection or home inspection report and reorganises the important findings into clearer buyer-focused information.
Depending on the review selected, this can include defect explanations, repair priorities, likely trades and indicative repair-cost guidance.
Does BuyerReport inspect the property again?
No. BuyerReport reviews the existing third-party inspection report you already have. We do not attend the property as part of the report-review service.
What types of inspection reports can BuyerReport review?
BuyerReport is designed to review existing building inspection reports, building and pest inspection reports and home inspection reports, subject to the information contained in the supplied document.
Why review a report that has already been completed?
Inspection reports can contain significant technical detail, photographs, recommendations and maintenance observations. Buyers may still be unsure which items matter most, what should be addressed first and what reported defects may cost to repair.
BuyerReport is designed to make that information easier to understand before making a property decision.
How do I start a BuyerReport review?
Upload your existing inspection report through the BuyerReport application and choose the level of review you require.
You can start directly at app.buyerreport.app .
Do I need to upload photographs separately?
Where relevant photographs are already included in the supplied inspection report, they can be considered as part of the report analysis.
What information can appear in my BuyerReport?
Depending on the source inspection report, a BuyerReport may include important defects, inspection photographs, repair priorities, likely contractor types, repair scope and indicative repair-cost guidance.
See the What You Get page for more detail.
Can I see an example before ordering?
Yes. Visit the Sample Report page to see an example of the BuyerReport format.
What is the AI Report Review?
The AI Report Review is an automated analysis of the supplied inspection report. It is designed to organise relevant findings, explain defects more clearly and provide repair-priority, likely-trade and indicative repair-cost guidance.
The AI-only option is not professionally reviewed by a building or pest inspector.
What is Professional Review?
Professional Review uses AI to assist with the initial report analysis before an experienced building and pest inspector checks the relevant findings, available photographs, defect significance, repair scope and indicative cost guidance before the final BuyerReport is released.
Does Professional Review replace the original inspector?
No. Professional Review remains a desktop review of the supplied third-party inspection report. It does not replace the original physical inspection of the property.
What is included with Review + Consultation?
Review + Consultation includes Professional Review together with a 15-minute consultation to discuss important findings, repair priorities and likely expenditure contained in the supplied report.
Are BuyerReport repair-cost figures quotations?
No. Repair-cost figures are indicative budgeting allowances only and are not contractor quotations.
Actual costs can vary depending on property location, access, repair scope, contractor pricing and conditions discovered when work is carried out.
Can BuyerReport tell me which contractor I may need?
Where reasonably apparent from the supplied inspection report, BuyerReport can indicate the type of suitable contractor that may be required, such as a plumber, roofer, carpenter, bricklayer or waterproofer.
The relevant contractor should confirm the actual repair scope and pricing where required.
Does BuyerReport only show major defects?
No. Relevant maintenance, moisture, roofing, timber pest and other reported items may also be important because they can contribute to future property expenditure even where they are not classified as major defects.
How much does BuyerReport cost?
Current Home Buyer pricing is $29 for AI Report Review, $99 for Professional Review and $149 for Professional Review + Consultation.
See the Pricing page for the full comparison.
Is there a subscription?
No. Standard Home Buyer reviews are purchased per report.
How long does a review take?
AI Report Review is generally designed to be completed within approximately 5–10 minutes.
Professional Review is generally targeted for approximately 4–5 business hours, depending on report complexity and review demand.
Can Buyer’s Agents use BuyerReport?
Yes. Buyer’s Agents and property acquisition businesses can use BuyerReport for recurring professional inspection report review and client due-diligence support.
Do Buyer’s Agents use the same account as Home Buyers?
No. Approved Buyer’s Agent accounts use separate professional account access and separate pricing arrangements.
Are Buyer’s Agent reports AI-only?
No. The professional Buyer’s Agent service uses professionally reviewed client reports rather than AI-only report output.
Is volume pricing available for Buyer’s Agents?
Yes. Professional accounts can receive volume-based pricing depending on recurring report requirements.
Visit Buyer’s Agent Services for more information.
Does BuyerReport independently verify the property condition?
No. BuyerReport is based on the third-party inspection report and information supplied. We do not independently inspect concealed, inaccessible or undocumented areas.
Does BuyerReport replace contractor advice?
No. Where repair, investigation or further assessment is required, a suitable qualified contractor should confirm the actual condition, repair requirements and pricing.
Is my inspection report private?
Uploaded inspection reports are handled through the BuyerReport application and are used to provide the requested report-review service.
I already have my inspection report. What do I do next?
Upload the existing inspection report through the BuyerReport application and select the review option that suits you.
Should I choose AI Review or Professional Review?
AI Review is designed for buyers wanting fast automated report analysis. Professional Review adds checking by an experienced building and pest inspector before release.
You can compare all options on the Pricing page .
